Not sure if anyone else has posted this or not yet, but Ally bank has a campaign going to get people to save their change, and pick up found coins. They have placed 100 coins in 10 US cities (10 in each) on the ground in common areas for people to pick up. They look like shiny new pennies but have Ally's logo on one side and a unique code on the other. If you are lucky enough to come across one and find the code, it's worth $1000 finders fee (and I think you get to keep the coin)

Cities are San Diego, Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, Washington DC, Charlotte, Miami, Chicago, Denver and Austin.

Some have been claimed. If you live in one of these cities
its worth looking into. They're also tweeting out clues.

I already pick up pennies, but unfortunately they didn't hide any in my city.

I'm surprised Atlanta isn't one of those cities.

I saw an article about this the other day, and noticed that there are none in the Northwest.
Perhaps they'll circulate and one (or maybe a couple dozen) will make it into my next box of cents.

Another thing I saw in the article is that they're only redeemable until the end of 2016. Two months doesn't seem like a lot of time for most of them to be found and cashed in- although I suppose the bank would prefer it that way.
