I threw a bid on it of $5 and then realized that should be my max since it's cleaned....

Didn't expect it to sell for almost $50
Rest in Peace

I'm guessing the winner missed some rather obvious problems. Or they just wanted to fill the hole.

Maybe they got caught up in the fact that the coin is "way cool".

Easily XF details and believe that verdigris will come off nicely. I'd be in at $15.00 for the risk reward. Way cool!

Nuclear snipe - i.e., two bidders each put in a very high snipe bid in the last seconds of the auction and one of them gets burned.
Rest in Peace

Not sure about those light-colored areas on the bust, but I have no problem with the coin, other than the price.

Looking at the completed 1874s in XFish condition, $45 is actually a good price compared to what they're going for... And it doesn't looked cleaned to me, either

This is a good example ..of the picture might not really show what the
coin really looks like.

I am thinking if that coin is sitting on a white or lighter background,
the white balance might be way off.

And the lighting might not be good either.

I think this .. because a lot of my pictures turn out like this one

If that is a problem free XF coin .. that is not really a bad price ..

Of course just my opinion
