I see what appears to be copper streaks in the coin, could this be made of a different alloy such as brass. The reverse is a bright yellow color, and the front may have been yellow but is toned in my opinion.

The alloy mix could have been off, a little too much zinc and it would indeed be brass. That would account for the yellowish coloring also. If so, and it doesn't cost too much to verify it, it should command a nice premium. Some of the larger Jewelers have the capability, but I have no idea what they'd charge.

No. they are just how some coin age. They turn because they are not mixed well in the stock materials metal mixture.
