This old boy has seen better days, so there may be a number of explanations. But looking at the motto under magnification, there seems to be a spread/doubling. Am I seeing a mint issue, or was this just mushed. The thing that makes me wonder is its not so much mashed at the top but there's spread down in the field around the words, if that makes any sense.

Help me train my eyes! Thanks!

I can't see for sure, but it is probably a VLDS coin. They get pretty nasty looking when the die ages.

I found this variety and just got it back from being attributed by james wiles and he said it has been MIA for 30 years. None have been graded to my knowledge unless anyone knows differently. Fs-1967-10-101 (019). If anyone cares to know the type of doubling its noted in the letter deep in the ol safe and dont mind gettin out.

Coop- when I was going through some dimes my dad gave me I noticed the doubling on one and saw it was a 1967. Opened up cherrypickers and flipped to the page you posted and knew I finally found something worth posting.
