I purchased this example from a long trusted dealer friend at Friday's Baltimore Whitman coin show .... I've long admired it in his case and finally pulled the trigger on what I consider to be the King of the LWC varieties. In hand ... much more luster than my poor point-and-shoot photos show. 1955 LWC DDO#1 Here is an image of the obverse alone: 1955 LWC DDO#1 Obverse In hand ... the bit of green around "IN" in the legend does not appear visible. Digital photographs bring forth every detail indeed. I'm considering PCGS certification for ease of eventual re-sale ... although it does not require this IMHO for authenticity. Thoughts on this example? David *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Nice coin. Will PCGS conserve it (the green spots)? You should post in the grading section, also need to see reverse. John 1

Quote: Way to post a pic with your new Mac. Thanks Ed ... this new machine is certainly challenging the mind of a lifetime PC user ... but I'm getting there. That was my first photograph edited in my new software and uploaded via my new Mac ... silly as it may sound I'm proud of the baby steps! David

Great looking coin! Congrats on the purchase!
If you do send it in for PCGS certification/grading, I would have them address "the green." No sense in allowing the issue to continue and possibly result in distracting damage to the coin in the future. (I would also address it if you don't send it in for certification!)

AU details, I know PCGS or NGC or any major TPG would give it a problem grade just due to obverse nicks and ques. color.
