Please help grade this 1959 dime. Sorry about the pictures but I can't seem to get any good ones. I will try to see if I can take better pictures by taking the coin out of its 2x2 (rather 1.5x1.5). Thanks

Looks like a MS64 to me. There's chatter in the field. A few marks here and there

I agree with 64. If the Obverse were as nice as the Reverse it would be a 65+

What is the value of this coin? Coinsandcanada says $7.00 and $12 for 63 and 64, and Charlton says $10 and $16 for MS-63 and 64. I bought this for $4.

I would say ms62 maybe ms63, seems like a lot of chatter around the queen

$4 is probably what most people would pay for it raw. I picked up a couple of these dimes at the coin expo last spring. They were around 4-5$ a piece

I just noticed this. The "scratches" in the circled areas are not in on the coin; they are only in the picture.

I'm confused, they're on the holder? Or they magically appear from taking a picture. Because pictures don't lie :P

Have a look at these images. You do not see the scratches that you see in the first two pictures. The first two images represent the coin more accurately (except for the areas I circled). Also, sorry about these pics; I took them quickly.

you should take the coin out of the holder and take straight-on pictures to get an accurate grade

Okay, so I took the coin out of the holder and took pictures (Unfortunately, the picture of the obverse is not great). After examining the obverse of the coin with my loupe, I can see the scratches by the queen (the ones in the circled area). These scratches are not visible to the naked eye (this is why I originally said they weren't on the coin). The first obverse picture is more accurate than this one.

I think 10 cent coins are expected to have no scratches on the fields at all even scuffs in the luster can effect the grade. By your picture's I could see ICCS giving this coin a MS-63 maybe a MS-64 on a long shot.
