Got this tonight for $650. Scarcer date, low mintage, low survivors. I'm thinking low AU grade wise. Thoughts?

EF-45 at least, possibly AU-50. No hint f cleaning, which is rare for these. Wonderful example and the little bit of dirt seen in the recesses wouldn't bother me.

At first I wasn't sure if it was cleaned, but the smudging is from circulation rub. I'm gonna acetone the crud in the areas on both sides and also see if it makes it look better. Not sure if it is worth grading but these are far and few seen ebay has 1 on the market and zero known sales recently. Worst case I know I can break even or perhaps make a little money if needed....this was an impulse buy....I may keep it if I make good money on this upcoming coin buy with my cousins 70+ Morgan dollars from her late husband.
Rest in Peace

I wouldn't touch it and it is worth grading, in my opinion.

Looks genuine and looks AU50 or so. These are essentially melt value pieces when circulated and are not worth certifying. $650 is a fair price IMO.

Nice coin. Good price.

I think there is no need to have it graded. The cost of the grading would eat
into any potential profit.

Easy XF coin, most likely low AU

Try acetone and a bit of nudging on the dark areas with a Q-tip or wood toothpick.
