Hello...
I had this coin posted before a few years back..Only gotten 1 respond on it .Im just going through some coins I had put away and found this one again ..lol..just wanted to see what everybody thinks about it ..Is it PMD?

Looks like a Dryer Coin, perhaps. Certainly damage.

to me it looks like someone was trying to make a homemade bezel for it.

I remember as a kid finding a similar thing and, for some reason , I decided to peel off the extra rim. Mine was a bezel of some sort.

I have some experience with Dryer Coins:

I have never seen a zinc penny as a Dryer Coin, so cannot say for sure if yours, being zinc, is typical of what would happen to a zinc cent.

If this were a copper cent with this same amount of tumbling. I think the rim still would be more erect rather than curling over so completely onto edge lettering. Zinc, being softer than copper, might curl more readily.

This coin may have been spooned. (tapped on the edge of the coin with an inverted spoon to roll over the edge of the coin) I would expect a Dryer Coin to have the faces of the coin scratched up a bit more.
