It is challenging for non Canadian residents to get such coins in the wild. Plus we always are subject to higher shipping costs since we have to order everything online.

If you can make it to a large Toronto show there is a well known dealer that had many sets of this 25 cent piece for around 200.00 I haven't seen him lately maybe retired. There are lots available out there

TheForce those coins are not common in any Country to find in change the Proof Like sets are common SP maybe a little less but the business strikes are rare in change. Maybe you might be better to do like john100 said come to visit Canada but maybe plan a vacation around some of the bigger cities and shows kill two birds with one stone so they say

I told this story on the old CCC forum years ago, but most of you haven't heard it. When the two obverses were first discovered, I was Deputy Curator of the National Numismatic Collection in Ottawa. I pointed out the differences to the women on our staff and told them to keep their eyes open. It was either that same day or the next that one of them came to me and handed me a large bust she had gotten in change at lunch. Sometime later I checked a group of five 1973 PL sets I'd bought and set aside and three of them were the large bust. Go figure... No, I'm usually not that lucky!

The bank employee who found the business strike large bust was quite confident she'd find another one, but she never did, of course. I wish she could have found me a 1969 large date 10c while her luck was running!

At that time you probably had thought that they were evenly split between the large and small bust... Great history story..Keep them coming..

Actually, when I finally checked the sets I knew that the large bust variety was much scarcer. I'd never bothered to check them up to that point because it seemed unlikely that there'd be any large busts in the group!

It's one of my very favorite modern coins! I'd like to add an MS-65 some day, but the only one I have seen was not especially pretty.
