Ciao, here I post the photo of a Liberty Cap Cent that looks strange to me.
I think is a fake, specially watching at the hair and at the shape of the letters.
What do you think?

If they're real, I know I can't afford it. Something like this would have well documented provenance.

I am not an expert but it looks genuine to me. Others may know much more. Is this a coin you are considering for purchase? It is worth much more than my house

It looks like a real S-24 to me, Maris' 'Apple Cheeks' - note the rough patch at the date and lower bust, the weak hair below the ear, and the weak pole at the cap. An earlier die state, maybe Breen IV, just before the crack which develops through the L in Liberty.

The reverse stems correctly cross over the ribbon (left) and under (right), right-stem to A alignment is spot on.

I would recommend professional authentication before making any authoritative statement as to authenticity, but I do not see anything that would make me suspect this is not an authentic coin.

Looks real and mint state; as such, it is indeed worth over $50,000 based on auction history. I don't see it in the Heritage auction archives so apparently it never sold through that venue, at least not in the last 15 years.

Where is this coin? Did you encounter it for sale in Italy, or find it on a website? In the world of large cent collectors it would be an important coin and its history ought to be well-documented.

If this is truly for sale in Italy, and you can get it for a basement price, then do so... If its a few thousand euros, get a loan....

Thanks for the answers, unfortunately is not mine. I will advice the owner to send the coin for certification, I think is the best thing to do.
