I'm watching the auctions on Great Collections again, and there's THIS coin. It says (toning) but seriously, this looks like it's been in a fire! But then it wouldn't be graded MS 64, right? Has anyone seen toning like this?

You are looking at a scan. Scans KILL any color a coin has. But you have posted GC Morgans that have full color.

I doubt it will break MS-63 values.

GC lists every coin that isn't white or red as toned to protect from those who really dislike toning as well as for those who love toning.

The obverse has been laying exposed while the reverse was protected from whatever elements that did that nasty toning.

Technical grade is not affected by toning. Market grade is.

it has 14 bids. Top bid is currently $45. I'd be curious to see it in person. Not curious enough to buy it, but...

The Shadow effect in front of Liberty's face looks like this has been wiped from right to left with something.
The toning on this coin looks pretty ugly to me personally.

I'm going to go puke on a few Morgan's, leave them that way for a month or two, spray them off and send them to NGC.

Then CAC.

Big bucks for those beauties for sure.

Winning bid was $44. Congrats to whoever.

Bidding was a bit slow tonight. A couple people made off with some really nice deals.
