It's easy to get high grade modern coins, but I find it much harder to find (not to mention afford) classic coins in higher grades. Here's the highest grade classic coin I own (which is almost cheating since it's near the end of the classic coin era): How about you? What's your highest graded classic coin (or coins)?

WOW! Nice coin. Now that is what I'd put in my Mercury dime Album if there was a slot for Proofs. As for me not sure. I always break out coins from those slabs and put them in Albums. Possibly I've had some really high graded ones but since now in Albums, don't know.

For me, graded, it's this one. I have more that will grade higher if I were to submit them but officially graded is this one... Mercury dime MS-66

Yeah, I have some other classic coins that might conceivably grade higher, but they are not slabbed and any grade would be my own subjective opinion.
Glad you like the coin, Carl. I bought it earlier this year to make me feel better after my cat died...

I have no graded coins, classic or otherwise. That being said, those dimes are stellar!

Here's the 1938-D Buffalo nickel I bought last year (sorry for the bad close-ups). It is by far my highest graded classic coin, and also my most expensive purchase to date.

No classic MS67s in my collection. This NGC MS66 BN is my highest-graded coin (classic or modern, US or world): This coin may be from the Randall Hoard.

whoa I have a handful of MS63 and MS64 Liberty Seated dimes and an all MS (mostly 64/65/66) 1934 to 1945 Merc set in a capital plastic holder. I had to crack them to fill the captial holder but well worth the price of admission. If you want any pics just search form my name and "LSD" or "mercury" There are some real beauties.

Given that 95+% of my collection are raw coins this is the highest grade of those slabbed.

If I exclude Lincolns, Washingtons, Mercs, Franklins, Roosevelts, etc. of which I have a decent few -67's this one is probably next up: Best Large Cent bonus: (Bad seller pics - no wear on coin. I have this coin, just need to take proper photos.) -- AB
