I pulled this out of circulation the other day. 5 digits off from a truly unique bill. Is there any value to this? Going in the collection either way.

Partial ladders have some value. The condition of the note and how many digits in the ladder have a lot to do with it. I do not collect these, so I have no idea what premium it may bring. Nice find.

Remember, for every ladder there are 18 that are off by one digit at either end. So that would factor into the value.

I am too traditional to appreciate near-miss serial numbers, but perhaps the world is changing.

A slim chance, but I would go back to the bank and buy as many singles as you can afford. This is a SFO note, and you live in CA. You never know.
Good Luck!
