I am new to grading, so am wondering why a 64? Because of the upper lip ding and cheek scratch? The photo does not reveal how brilliant this coin is in hand.
Rest in Peace

Easy 65 and I wouldn't be a bit surprised at a 66.

Very good photos, too.

I was thinking 66 (wishfully). My first time taking photos of coins! Thanks to this forum I found so much info on lighting, setups etc.. (oh, and did I say my wife was once a professional photographer...)

Very nice!

I can see it at a 65 and maybe a 66 if you looks good to you in hand.

...which would make it a very valuable coin!

This one sold for $4,935 earlier this year:

I wish! I can not see 68 and you may not be able to see what I can see from the photo: a beautiful coin re luster with only two marks - a ding on his chin and a significant diagonal gash on his cheek. Otherwise a beautiful coin in my limited experience that might make 65?

The reverse could be a 68 as I can not find a single mark under 8x loop.

Thanks for all of the input. This truly is educational!

PCGS was real generous with the grade on this one, especially with all the field marks.
