Pretty good odds. 8 of 10 it's a pre Cud die crack.

To me it looks like a struck through scrap adding it to the coin. You can see the outline of it on the bust and rim. If so the coin should be slightly heavier.

Time to get out your scale Earl. The more times I look at it, the more I am leaning towards a struck through (copper foil?)

I think Coop is probably right, but that little of extra metal may not add enough to the weight to tell a difference.
The way the left side is blended in, it almost looks like it may be a small lamination issue as CoinCents suggested.
Interesting find either way!
