Here is a 2 Kreuzer from the German Countship of Pfalz-Simmern dated (15)89 AD. In addition to being listed in Krause, it is attributed as Saurma 2080.

@1c5d, I am really enjoying the series of daalders you've posted through the late 1500s. Here is a silver florin from Lorraine dated 1588.

Here is a 1/2 Batzen from the German Countship of Pfalz-Veldenz that is dated (15)88 AD. In addition to being listed in Krause, it is attributed as Saurma 2042. Great participation today!

thanks tdziemia, I will perhaps post a few more :-)
your Nancy Florin is very interesting (do I recognise this piece from an Elsen auction ?) anyway, it is a half thaler, so as usual very rare compared to the whole talers
- maybe this coin is a nice addition to the half-taler thread on CCF which is sleeping since quite some time

Quote: your Nancy Florin is very interesting (do I recognise this piece from an Elsen auction Yes, 1c5d, I picked it up at an Elsen auction year or two ago. Despite the remnant of mounting, it was still pricey, as all the early large silver from Lorraine is pretty rare. And I'll post my Brabant philipsdaalder in two weeks.

if only this thread could pause a bit during year like 1588 the year of the Spanish Armada designed to invade England after pickup of a superb army operating in Flanders under Alexander Farnese; a year that would shatter these plans thereby changing in a big sweep the history of the world but we are always in a hurry and life goes on @tdziemia many coins that survive today were once mounted in pendants, often it is no longer known anymore the way I see it is that the trace of mounting makes your coin authentic
