@Errers and Varietys Quote:I can see that your ancient coin has a Cud (Major Die Break) and Die Cracks on the reverse of your coin. interesting and thanks for the comment - I did not notice this as explained on a previous page, these pieces were hand made, so the planchets and dies have many imperfections; they give such coins a unique character that can blend with the post-strike changes in this case most characteristic feature is the patina, which is a nice blue/gray/brown (photo's taken with daylight exposure) ; probably this coin has been in collections for a very long time @ tdziemia @spence interesting points maybe the difference was well known - trading between the Netherlands and the Baltic States was very active in those days, so coins of both types probably came together in one purse very nice 1558 Half-Groshen Spence !

Quote: I am almost finished in this game It has been enjoyable to watch those daalders/thalers/ecus from SPanish Netherlands/Flanders/Brabant over the last weeks. Quite an amazing collection you have!

Weirdly, it looks like I have all four years in the 1554-1557 range. I don't have any photos of my 1557 (and missed the date anyway), the 1554 is in an old patchy 2x2 and any photos would almost certainly suck (I tried), and I'm not very sure of the date of the 1555. But I can post the 1556 coin... Free City of Danzig, denar, 1556. Saurma 5731, I think? It was already heavily chipped when I got it, but, IIRC, some of the pieces only fell off later. Sorry for the photo quality; tiny dark coin, smartphone camera. Might try to make a better photo later.

Quote: Michael von Ku#776;enburg @1c5d7n5m, just a head's up that you can use the "Add Greek Letters" hotlink just above the text box to also add vowels with an umlaut: e.g. Michael von Künburg. It is a fairly new feature here on CCF. Here is my 3 Kreuzer from the German Free City of Isny. It is attributed as Saurma 1525.
