1962 French 20 centimes. This is the first year of issue of what could be called an 'official mule'. Two designers, Lagriffoul and Dieudonne, submitted designs for the new 20c coin, and patterns were made of their designs in 1961. The Monnaie de Paris decided to use Lagriffoul's obverse and Dieudonne's reverse for the final coin:

5 French francs 1962. From 1960 till 1969 these 5 francs circulation coins were issued in silver (0.835 fine). From 1967 onwards, mintages were low.

In 1960 the old french franc was replaced at a rate of 100 to 1 new franc. The design of the pre WW-I silver coins was used for the new francs.

1961 Scottish shilling. From 1937 to 1966 two designs of shilling were minted every year - for England and Scotland. The Elizabeth II Scottish shilling can be identified by the one large lion on the shield rather than the three lions of England.

The 1961 Scottish shilling is quite scarce, with a mintage of 2.8 million.
