Thinking about sending this coin to Bob Grellman after I get it. By date position I think it must be either N-22 or N=17. The position of the left edge of 1 seems to match N-22 better than N-17. Some dirt and verdigris makes it tough to see some of the other markers. Any guesses? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1856-Braide...p=true&rt=nc

in looking at it closer I think N-4 might be the right guess.

OK, so here's my Bob Grellman story - I wanted to buy his Large Cents 1840-1857 book but all I had was a phone number so I called it and left a message. OMG - he called me and I said something really stupid like - Bob - I can't believe you are calling me. You are such an icon in the Coin World!. He wasn't too impressed with my intro but I got an autographed copy of his book. Great guy...

I believe all experts would be helpful to newer/older collectors. That has been my experience so far. Sometimes a question we ask, may spark a new subject with a answer that will come out later. Questions often help the experts to either give an answer, or to inspire to a new thought. Most collectors are more than willing to share what they know on a subject. That is what the threads here show.
