I opened up one of my boxes I picked up on Friday and saw 4 Walker enders. I quickly flipped all of the rolls over to see if there were any more enders. There were 2 more Walkers. I tell myself this has the makings of a monster box. I was so excited I opened up the first of the 6 ender rolls and there are 4 Walkers in it. I was about to rip into the other five but told myself settle down and take a picture. Each of the rolls had multiple Walkers. Now I am telling myself "if this is what is in the ender rolls the rest of the box must be loaded". I start cracking the rolls open and nothing. And then more nothing. Every once in a while there would be a roll with 2 or 3 Walkers and Franklins. Then I find a couple of rolls with a single 40%er in it. In the first box I searched before this had a roll with 2 Walkers in the same roll and another roll with a nice Franklin. So my theory is either the Walkers were dumped into a coin counter halfway through the bag and they were the only halves that person cashed in which is why they stayed stuck in a pocket / cluster in the machine bag and then stayed pretty much together when they got counted and rolled by the machine. I also think the 40%ers and the 1964 came from a different person dumping them in the machine as the rims were not black like the others and they were spread out over a few rolls. OR (and I am hoping OR) These rolls were stragglers from the real Monster Box that is still out there somewhere. Most of the coins were very dirty / environmentally damaged / etc except I did find an AU / UNC 1944 Walker that took an unfortunate recent scrape to the obverse. It has great luster except the edge is black like the rest of halves from the group. Unfortunately it wasn't the Monster Box that the 6 ender and multiple silvers in each roll should have indicated but I'll take 40 Walkers, 4 Franklins, a 1964, and 4 40%ers in a box anyday.

Monster Box is what dealers here call a mint box of 500 silver Maple Leafs. From the title I was expecting to see a disappointing box of bullion. What you have is much nicer than the title would lead one to assume.

Outstanding! I gave up silver searching. Too many boxes of only clad with the occasional not intended for circulation coin. Happy hunting!

congrats jack, great box! Gotta love all that 90%. I really like the pic with the multiple rolls cut out showing the drastic color differences. That must have been fun. Hopefully there is more out there for you to find from that batch.

Stunning find! It's a shame they've been neglected -- but you rescued them. Happy dance. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy and you have certainly put in the effort for such a great, great find.

Sorry for your loss, Jack. Hang in there; that monster box will get to you and then you can forget all about that dirty, scraped up silver this time!

Quote: Hang in there; that monster box will get to you and then you can forget all about that dirty, scraped up silver this time A year or 2 ago I had a 4 box pickup going where one roll had 10 silvers in it. Nothing else across all of the 4 boxes. I believe in the straggler separated at boxing theory. Unfortunate when you live in a large metropolitan area if you catch the lead box or the end box or the random straggler roll and not the jackpot box you have no idea where the payday ended up. I may have to call my emergency BMO bank (these came from BMO / Garda) who stocks a box of halves and see if they will hold the box they should have and order me another box since I actually have next Saturday off and can get there before they close.

I know you live to a higher standard, but for me that would still count as a monster box.
