This coin sold yesterday for $9,100.

Why would anyone bid on a coin that claims to be this that has not been certified?

I am really curious to know what the buyer will find out about the coin. I am sure he is getting it graded. Will it be a fake? Does it stick to a magnet? oh boy

The pictures aren't great, but I think I can see that infamous die chip on the reverse side that is a known marker for a counterfeit.

Once again, what P.T. Barnum said (or what was said about P.T. Barnum if you are a conspiracy theorist)

Sorry about that. It did end five days ago. I'd saved the listing to post here and didn't notice that.

Anyone think I'll get a retirement fund if I sell mine? Had to buy the 43D the two coated "steelies" were found in bank rolls.

Now I see the die chip on the left wheat stalk.

That same chip was on a fake 1911-S Lincoln I bought last year. Fortunately, CCF helped me determine it was a fake and I got my money back.

Probably all Shill bidders anyhow!
Real (Knowledgeable) bidders would have never bid on this coin as ungraded. Or I may be wrong and the term "Bidiots" rings true!!

There are many knowledgable people who bid on these types of auctions, simply so others who are not in-the-know don't get stuck with counterfeits.

It is very easy to kill the transaction once you've won it. Both ebay and PayPal have strong buyer protection policies and there is nearly zero risk in winning such items.
