Nice find!
Looked at 22
None like yours
Is yours medal or coinage alignment?
With a mintage of two million, quite a few dies were likely used, could be quite rare.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

That's a real neat variety! Good find. I only have 2 P.E.I. cents and neither has the doubling.

Great eye gidjit! I have probably a half dozen to check when I get home. What I find interesting is they didn't even use the right punch, it's a completely different font.

I looked through 52 results on ha.com and didn't see any. Probably ~30 had pictures good enough to tell.

I haven't looked yet ... I can't remember where I put my Maritimes stuff. I should have 12-15 of the PEI cents.

just curious ,what is a usual sample size of a certain coin that is used to determine the scarcity of a variety.
for example approx how many 1881 large cents would have been looked through before Charlton lists the value of a single serif N? or micro D.......

Your coin looks to be a GR-901c from Griffin book description is 8 and 7 close 7 and 1 some wider.
The date is much farther from the beads. The V is well straitened and there is a good A Rarity 2.

Or it could also be a GR-901k 8 and 7 very very wide 7 and 1 very very wide.
The date is quite close to the beads. The V is very well straightened and the A has a very thin side.

Although there is no mention of the N over N in his writings that I can find he never made any notes on the reverse other than the W in Edward being slightly higher or lower than the A
