I just went to the bank, and they had $10000 in Series 2009 $100 bill star notes, no kidding. Where is a good place to sell such a large amount of notes? The serial numbers are around JL19418---*. I need the money FAST because I can't keep $10 grand on hand. Thanks! I'll post pictures later. The notes are brand new.

A HUMONGOUS run of over 25 million star notes, if they all made the cut. This is the initial series of the colorized $100 notes and it took years of re-inspections to finally release these to the public in early 2016. I personally own a few 2009 $100 star notes and picked them up for face. I can't imagine anyone making much on these, unless there are some super fancy serial numbers.

Honestly, I would take them right back to the bank. I usually see these being offered at coin shows for $10-$15 over face. The only problem is they are always there. Not many people are willing to buy $100 star notes unless it's a star and a fancy serial number. It's too much money to tie up on a single easily found at any bank note.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Most of us do not have 10k$ laying around to tie up in a bunch of "common" star notes. I've seen these packs being offered the last few years but have no clue whether they actually sell or not. Remember, there was a boat load of both regular and star "C" notes printed and stockpiled for this series.
I would imagine you could find some big currency dealers who would be willing take them as a consignment but you may not see your money again for months.
The notes may have a high book value (and a lot of face value) but reality is that they will bring no where near book value. A single star "C" is for a collector; 100 consecutive star "C" notes would be for an eccentric with too much money.
If they were mine I'd check them for errors and special serial numbers and then have to deposit the leftovers back in the bank.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

It isn't my money. I'm now a teenager who owes my dad $10000. So, the faster I figure things out, the better!

I think I'll try ebay. Any idea how to ship $10000 worth of notes safely?

Well young man, think of all the time you'll have to post on CCF once your dad finds out and grounds you! The suggestion to keep the special numbers is fine, if you can afford them NOW...don't expect to "flip" these easily, may take some time. At least you can recoup $10K with face value. Best of luck.

Just remember, ebay has fees and so does Paypal. Add in shipping costs of the notes, it's almost impossible to make money on these. I'd just take them back to the bank.

Look for fancy serial numbers and spend the rest or deposit them back.
