I was thinking if it was from damage that the whole coin would look so much worse? Hmmm ... very much a newbie to this ! I am really hoping one of the experts jumps in here , well Thank you for looking!

I am not an expert especially with quarters, all I am seeing though is damage. Others will be along :)

Well I am learning so much on here about coins , glad you all are here ! Thank you ! I really like this coin it is my birth year and it looks like there is some creepy face coming out of the back of Lincoln's head , so I will add it to my collection!

I think Washington might agree, that would be creepy!

Birth years are often saved. But think I'd let this one go after a better one comes along. Heavy post strike damage abound. Thanks, Doug.

Note the rim around the coin. It was intact when the coin was struck. Now the coin is damaged and the rim and edge of coin show that evidence.
