I would value the opinions here as to whether this 1917s is a slight Off Center, PMD or something else.

The coin on the right is the coin in question. The coin on the left is provided for a side by side comparison. Not that anyone here really needs to know what a '17s looks like but I think it's helpful when examining coins in photos to see both items photographed under the same conditions and camera settings.

There are two things you may not see well in the images. The first is that the coin in question has a slight concave impression from the lettering "In God We Trust" to the upper portion of the rim. The reverse has no noticeable deformity.

The second is that the image may look as though the coin in question is somewhat oblong, it isn't. When comparing it with the other coin in person I can in fact hide one coin behind the other. Each coin can hide the other with no noticeable traces showing along the edges.

Certainly off-center. It's really awesome this one is on a 1917 S. It should bring a premium over a regular one. Comparing prices on ebay will be your best bet.

Thanks for all the great responses. It's great to have confirmation on the find. Off to put it in a holder and add it to my collection.

If you mean the small pinpoints, yes. Whatever it is wouldn't come of with a gentle push so I'll leave it there. If you mean the quarter moon area near the rim, there is some dirt there but it is enhanced a bit by shadow.

Looks like about 15% off center.

A similar off center 1918-D Lincoln Cent recently brought $49.00 on ebay.

Does anyone think that acetone would help the crud spots?

After reading my post, I know it is off center, what I meant to say, it is slightly out of round.
