One year thing...225th Anniversary of the Mint might have something to do with it.

I get the intention, but that's one thing I thought made the Philadelphia minted cents unique - never an MM. I guess it's cool for collectors (I'll keep my eye out ) but I'm glad it's for only one year. I guess maybe it's only for collectors in some way because I don't think most people will notice.

Guaranteed some 2017 Cents will end up being minted with NO "P"! Big $$$$$$ in the making!

I've long wondered why the cent didn't get the "P" when the other coins did. That this is a one-year-only thing confuses me more. It's long overdue and should be permanent.

I was just involved in a Facebook discussion about where a person found a 1945 Lincoln Wheat cent and we were explaining about mint marks. They could not understand why cents from Philly did not have mint marks. Now I have to decide how many of these I need, I normally try to get two made for circulation from each mint. Now I need at least three.

I will get one with my mint set subscription, but I may decide to pickup a roll or two.

Well I'll be darned . After 225 years we're going to see a Philly MM on a Lincoln Cent . I too am glad it's only for one year , will make another collector piece to add to our stash . I'm going to need 10 OBW rolls and about 6 of each of P & D singles .

I'll be keeping an eye out for those 2017 'no P' cents you promised, chuckster. If the Philly cents ever make it out here I'll probably keep a couple rolls, but they probably won't increase much in value- I can all but guarantee they'll be hoarded more than usual.

It would be great if San Francisco and West Point would strike mintmarked cents for circulation. Seems to me if we can have all these varieties of quarters to collect, why not add a couple more for cents?

I will certainly buy a couple of rolls and hang onto them. They might be hoarded a bit by collectors but I don't think the general public is going to know about it (or care if they do know) like they did with the Statehood Quarters. But yeah... I don't ever see much value increase for something that will be minted in the billions.
