 Please help me determine the date of this V nickel I recently acquired. The date is quite warn so it is difficult to determine. I would like someone to also confirm what I see.

It would be nice if it was an 1885, but the top of the digit looks rounded. I'm thinking 1883 or 1888.

1883. The shape of the bust in correlation with the last digit does not look like 1888.

the opening of the bottom of the 3 would seem like too large of a hole to be a 3 to me. I appreciate everyone's tips and viewpoints. Thank you for the suggestions

was 75 cents in a grab bin. Good grab if it is indeed an 1885, Originally thought it was an 1888. still not sure. Either way worth 75 cents

It could also possibly be a 1886, I agree try nic a date, best case you got a rarer date, worst case your out 75 cents
