On the Indian Head cents, BU = Banged Up. It just ended seconds ago as I write this ... no bids.

It is always important to read an auction description. The seller was having a bit of fun with it, their "BU" is translated to "Battered & Ugly" in the description section of the auction. Quote:BU (Battered & Ugly) 100% Complete Indian penny collection from 1857 to 1909, including all key dates. These coins all have problems including, but not limited to, excessive wear, cleaning, damage, problems, corrosion, whizzing, etc., or any combination thereof.

On the first set, I like that you're getting the full run from 1904 to 1907. Helps fill those tough holes in the Whitman book. And then they threw in the 1902! It just keeps getting better.
The second set is a lot more interesting. Looking at Beymer's current price list, an AG 1877 is $373, a VG 1909-S is $490, and the 1869 and 1871 together probably pull the set up to a list price of $1000, with all the rest of them thrown in for free. Including the blue Whitman book and the fingerprints on the coins from shoving them in.

That still leaves them saying that they have an " Indian penny", in whatever condition, from 1857. (It's actually a Flying Eagle cent, and the album clarifies this, but still funny.)

The second one is a great listing. Battered and ugly. At least they are truthful as opposed to other BU coins I've seen on the Bay.....

Quote: $50 insurance offered on a much higher asking price? Yeah He plans on dropping them in a flat rate box that automatically comes with $50 insurance.
