That is just a contact mark on the lobe. This area gets hit either by coin contact or by machine damage. On a doubled earlobe it is enlarged, not reduced. This is normal sized.

Thanks Coop. I thought that might have been the case. I remember that picture you have where the lines go from over the eye to the top of the ear and from under the nose to under the ear. Thought it might have been enlarged, but I guess not. These ears fool me. I appreciate it.

looks like the ear took a hit. Keep at it though! Once you start finding those doubled dies, you'll know when you find one. It all takes practice, and learning experiences (such as this one). I should know, I was very wrong MANY times before I finally got the hang of the error hobby. Once you get it though, you'll be hooked! Good luck and happy hunting!

Seeing them together helps as you realize how the ear lobe is enlarged/extended/relocated.
