I am not a Canadian coin collector.
I ended up with this coin and wanted to know the grade and if its worth getting graded.
Thanks in advance,
Zac

The pics are a little out of focus. As it sits, I'd say in the EF range. Not worth getting graded if it is simply a 1859 large cent. Check closer on the 9 of the date to see if it has been repunched or not. If possible, put in close up pics of the date too that way we could help and give further advice

The photos are a bit fuzzy, but I believe your coin is the
Haxby variety 702 (obverse die 70 + reverse die P8). You could compare it to the photos on those die pages on Dr. Haxby's 1859 catalog website.

As paulsz said, we would need the photos to be a little sharper to give you a good indication of grade.

Could make AU if color is original, but not the most attractive example.

Yes it's a vanilla 59..with a Haxby PC59-702 assigned to it....

Sadly,..that means that there is nothing special happening in the 9..

Not trying to sound rude...
Do these die varieties really matter value or collectible wise or do you guys just have fun attributing these?

Yes, The die pair can affect the value and collectability. Some varieties have repunched 9's or 5's in the date which are some of the more popular varieties, but there are a lot of other less popular, but perhaps scarcer die pairs which some of us collect. Look over Dr. Haxby's catalog and you will see a lot of interesting varieties to choose from.

And yes, mostly we just have fun!

Although the photo is fuzzy, I'd say XF-45 with some environmental damage. The cost to certify/grade it would far exceed the value of the coin for many years to come. Just keep it as a neat 150 year old coin.
