panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18725 Posts	Posted 01/27/2017 09:33 am the rim issue appears to be a planchet flaw possibly due to an impurity. since it is minor and unobtrusive I dont think it would receive a DAMAGE designation. I think the coin has been dipped in the past as I dont see any signs of remaining luster in any of the crevices. there are some hairline scratches on the reverse surfaces and a few on the obverse that are quite minor in nature and covered by toning. there is a possibility that the coin saw some light circulation or that they came from banging around with other coins early on. I'm going with the banging around premise with this one and not circulated. I can see why slider23 thought there may be wear on the leaves, however, when you look closely at them they appear to be rounded and not flat which to me says the coin is circulated. I'm at MS63 and it may see a details designation for improper cleaning. my personal opinion is its market acceptable. Report this Post to the Staff
