Before I joined the CCF family, never knew of this as a Cud to look for, nor some of the other errors to seek. Since 2014, have searched over 25,000 bulk wheats, 650,000 (stopped count 9/16) bank roll Lincolns but never "looked for" these. I have bagged up 15-1000+ bags of those first wheats to sell, maybe need to leave as is, unsearched for these errors, boy is it tempting tho! Became interested in RPM's early 2016 and went to town on those, both on wheats and rolls. Now will have to tear into my wheat buckets on hand and look, oh, oh...gonna be in trouble, just gave myself something else to do! Mama ain't gonna like that!

George: Could you take an image from the edge of the coin to show how much taller a Cud is in relation to the rim and bust area. That would be a great educational aid image. Thanks coop.

Very nice find. As an indication of the relative rarity on finding a Cud ... I have 6 total in 359,200 nickels searched .... so they are always treasured. David
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

That number sounds spot on nickelsearcher and id say even scarcer for Cuds of decent size like this on cents. Just a guess id say mabi 3-4 for that same amount of lincolns searched.(id love to hear numbers from someone with a real large sample size of lincolns that kept track, ahem john1?)

I love to hear John1's numbers as well, he will have a much greater sample size. If it helps, in the 2.2 million cents I have searched I have been fortunate enough to find 27 Cuds so far thus proving your point, Slamnbass, it is a much lower percentage for Lincoln cents (Nickels [1 in ~59,000] versus Cents [1 in ~81,000]).
