This is a modest start, to say the least, but it is a start. I will post more when they arrive. Why do I like classic Canadian? The quality and variety are, to me, very interesting. I remember years ago, wondering why US currency was so predictable, but of course, starting a few years ago we added more attractive notes, at least to some folks. I wonder if Canada will put the Prince of Wales on notes when the current monarch passes? Hopefully more currency collectors will chime in with their treasures, as I love seeing them.

Very nice! That is certainly more than "modest". That's more like a grand leap into paper money collecting.

One small step for a note collector, one giant step for a stamp collector. Yea, it's corny. . .

Very nice start yakimaboy.. Not bad 1937's, now all you need are the rest of the series.

SHAFTA9a, I am working on more 1937 issues, but when a new collecting bug bites me, I tend to go totus porcus. I need to keep in mind my eyes are bigger than my budget. But, those charted bank issues are also enticing.

When collecting coins or paper money, everyone's eyes (are (mostly) bigger than their budgets... It's the way it goes, good start, I have the full set but, I see you live in the US which may be harder for you, but they are a lot better looking then the US bills.

Quote: they are a lot better looking then the US bills. SHAFTA9a, I agree. The only great looking US notes, in my opinion, were the early nationals, legal tender, silver and gold certificates issued during and after the US Civil War. Unfortunately as nice as they are, they are generally out of my reach. Around WWI time frame US notes became somewhat unremarkable, although I certainly have a lot of them.

My latest acquisition, a 1923 Dominion black seal, signature Campbell - Clark. Very inexpensive large size in average circulated condition. The quest continues . . .

Nice start! I love the 25 cent bills. The slang name is "shin plasters" for the 25 cent bill. Anyone know why?

The reverse of the 1900 shinplaster shows American Bank Note Company, Ottowa. I assume then that ABC had facilities in Ottowa? torgemco, you asked for a reverse scan of the 1900 shinplaster so here it be:
