i didnt have the chance to go and look at them in person yet. I will soon though. So I need to look for a missing "s" on the 1990 penny. how do I know if the 1981 set is type 1 or 2?

in my opinion, take it. if anything, you could just auction/sell it off here on the site. There are a few coins in that list that I would gladly buy. ;)

HOLY MOLEY !.....
That's a SERIOUS commitment to Kennedy half dollars which I admire but don't have........
I just participate in Silver Huntin' once in awhile and do not have any aspirations of the Kennedy Collection.......at least not at this time.
As to whether it's worth that kind of money and grading questions.....there are really are A LOT OF Kennedy people here on the forum with super nice collections of the Kennedy half and an awful lot of experience and wisdom with those......
I'D BE PATIENT AND WAIT FOR THE ARRIVAL OF VARIOUS OPINIONS FIRST WERE I YOU!
(including the Ike coins..that's a lot of money to spend!)....

Doesn't that seem kinda high for a bunch of Kenndy Half's and Ike's which are pretty common and same with the proof sets he has listed. (Of course the harder proof sets are missing).

Wow...I went to PCGS.com and they've eliminated lots of price guides, replacing them with ads for dealers...including the Mint and Proof set hyperlinks.

wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!

A complete BU JFK set with all Proofs can be purchased on ebay for under $500. Ikes complete set with all BU and proofs can be purchased for about $200. 39 proof/mint sets would run $10 apiece and that would be a good deal especially since there are some older ones. Add the Silver Eagle at $18 apiece (=108) and the extra graded JFKs (which are probably in a lower tiered holder, so face value is what I'd put them at). Total= 500 + 200 + 390 + 108 +2.50= 1200. So yes $1000 I think is a good price. I didn't even count all the extra BU JFKs in your list. If they were all graded by PCGS, you might have a collection worth more than $2500, but I personally wouldn't recommend having them all graded unless you think they are worth more than $100 apiece (i. e., will grade in the high MS60s). If they come back at MS60 or 63, not worth the price of slabbing them, in my opinion.

Its not a high price but if you went out and tried too do a complete set, it may be a lot more if all were graded!

I had a similar opportunity when I was in school, tight with cash. It was all or nothing, no pieces, and I only wanted/needed some of the coins. It was an incredible deal, but I really thought I could not afford it, so I passed! To this day, I regret it. Even if I just "dumped" the extras at a coin show, I would have been ahead (I am sure that is what he ended up doing anyway).

I say go for it! You can always use the forum or ebay to liquidate the extras. Worst case, you dump them off at a coin show and your keepers end up "costing" you about what you would have spent on assembling the sets later.
