What was the last US book set you completed? As for me, my last set I completed was a Barber dime set about 7 years ago. I've since started & gave up on a Barber quarter & Barber half set.

Congrats on the completion of your Barber dime set . That is a feat ,there are many dates and mints in that set . Do you have the 94-S ? I have never completely finished a set of coins mainly because of the cost of key dates . I'm embarrassed to say I have completed 2 CH TO Gem Bu Jefferson sets 1938-1967 PDS . and 3 circulated sets .

1909-s IHC is a easy one! I'd like to see the proof set of Mercury dimes please. Sorry I forgot to add, I don't have the 94-s.

The last sets I have completed were the Type I and Type II gold dollars, but I don't know of a book for those. I've been working on the Classic Head $2.50 and $5.00 gold coins over the last couple of years. I completed the Twenty Cent Pieces a few years ago, but got "an offer I couldn't refuse" for the 1877 and have not been able to replace it. When I was a kid collector, I completed all the modern sets except the Washington quarter. I have never admired the "old" Washington quarter design. The obverse was dull, and the reverse looked crowded. I completed an Indian cent set when I was young, but sold it after I lost interest. I completed the US type coin set a few years ago.

billjones, now that's a fantastic feat I'm nowhere able to afford that at the moment (snark!) but do have a gen-you-whine .14 g California gold nugget! Now the last collection completed was the Canadian small cents with the purchase of a 2012 MS60 coin. Guess the last US was Rosie's (no proofs) w/49 P+D won at auction. Finally finishing some of these after soooolooong...feels really good!

I need 1909-S to finish my IHC Dansco; 1916-D for Mercury dimes; and 1921/1921-D for Walking Liberty. 1 complete set of V nickels is my only "full" set, although I have a second that is missing only the 1886. If I were to ever crack out my Morgans and combine them with my Dansco Morgans I'd have like 95% of a set minus the major keys. I have Lincoln 1909-1958, Buffalo, Jefferson 1938-2006, Barber Dimes/Quarters/Halves, SLQ's, Washington quarters, and Peace dollar Dansco albums, all in various states of completion. The Lincoln & Jefferson consist entirely of coins pulled from circulation, no mean feat these days, but I've had 20+ years to work on it and still not done, although the 1934-1958 Lincolns are done.

Not sure if I ever completed a set of anything. For example I've got 12 Albums of Mercury dimes all completed except missing the 16D in sets 11 and 12. Set #1 is all FSB but on a recent close inspection I noticed the 18S is not FSB in that set so as I said, just never can complete a set.

I am glad to see this thread. I don't feel like a slacker now. I finished a set of Ikes in a Dansco album last year. That's my one and only complete set and it was fun since it was completed using coins I pulled out of circulation as a kid and more recent purchases of the 1973 and silver coins.
I am a 1909 S VDB and 1922 no D away from a complete set of Au or better wheaties. The problem is I keep saving up for those last two and now I'm finding good deals on Semikey dates for Buffalos, Walking Libs and SLQs. Someday....
