Between double die and double strike? Are they 2 completely different kinds of errors on coins or does that mean the same?

@angelarvc1, the CCF glossary on the left hand side of your screen has some pretty good definitions of these two terms. Others here may have more to say beyond that.

Angela, Pete just referred you to John Wexler's site, which I linked you to yesterday. There's a lot of useful information there for you to read.

A doubled die is a double image on the die. Every coin that is struck with that die will show the same doubled image.
A double strike happens when a coin is struck twice, leaving two images on the coin. Sometimes a coin will move before the second strike hits and make a completely separate image.
Mechanical or Machine Doubling happens when there is an error during the striking process that causes the metal on the coin's surface to move slightly causing the appearance of a double image.

Sometimes people call machine damaged coins as double struck but this is no the case. The coin was only struck once, but the machine damaged the devices after the strike. So depending on what you think it double struck, the answer may be here. I hope this helps
