Are you saying that a 2015 ICCS MS-60 is NOW a PCGS MS64? And now you know why I speak out against TPG's and getting a paper opinion wrapped in plastic. A single person's opinion (or who you know or a good customer with) just increased a coin's value by multiple thousands.

Quote: good customer I've often wondered about that. Nice coin, though.

Coin is better off I. The PCGS slab and is more accurately graded, since ICCS doesn't grade brown cents very well.
Feel free to call me Will.

okiecoiner...in this case...as rare as it is...ICCS dropped the ball by UNDERGRADING by a full 4 MS points.
And believe me...the last thing I am is a "favorite" customer of PCGS. I've had my share of yelling matches with their horrendous customer support people.
I got lucky here...ICCS called it a MS60 and I rolled the dice and sent it off to PCGS as quickly as I could.

Well, I think that it was PCGS that did the hobby a big disservice. Judging from the hair in front of Vicky's hair, the bun and the braid, I think that ICCS was much closer to the correct grade. Unless I saw it in hand, I'm not sure that I would have given it a 60. Congrats on grabbing a very scarce coin in a great grade .. but I don't think that it's close to a 64. Again, grade creep or an opinionator that wasn't quite up to the task. I'm not dissing you .. I'm dissing the whole TPG program. I've never been a fan but, then again, I don't collect bright and shineys.

Okiecoiner, I do not remember this coin in particular, but the photos from this auction did not do most of the coins in it justice... There were several pieces I acquired in this auction that were immensely better than the photos or descriptions

I'll post better photos once the coin is back from PCGS...the coin is gorgeous in hand... but I'm no expert when it comes to grading MS coins...which is why I have to roll the dice often and hope for the best

So when are we going to see the "Danlos Registry Set" on PCGS? Have you thought about completing the rest of the series?

And yes, ICCS does downgrade a lot of bronze coins, just for nothing else other than colour. It is very rare to see a Red-Brown or Lustrous Brown bronze cent in an ICCS holder higher than MS-63. For fun, I took a perfectly struck 1974 specimen 1-cent, toned a gorgeous blue, and sent it to ICCS. It came back SP-63 Brown. The same coin came back SP-67 from PCGS. Frankly, anyone who is into higher grade 1-cent Canadian coins already knows this... and we have been cherry-picking "Lustrous Brown" ICCS holders for years... https://www.PCGS.com/SetRegistry/my...63059/117576
