Yeah, there were some issues with the copper plating. Fun fact: well-plated '81 zinc pennies are rarer than poorly-plated zinc pennies.

Yes if they are Zincolns. I don't think they are bubbles,more like debris trapped between the planchet and the copper plating. John1
