Coin World- The United States Mint has not struck Kennedy half dollars for general circulation since 2001, but that still hasn't stopped hobbyists from adding such coins from the series to their collections.
Yes... we do like them! One of the great designs of the current ones made IMHO. I love the REV and love the attitude JFK had towards being a real president for the American people.
Never ever stop selling a product if people keep buying it at comfortable margins.
They could do the same thing with the Lincoln Cent when they kill it from circulation. If they were smart, that now NIFC (NCLT) Lincoln Cent would also be 95% copper.
I would gladly buy 200 Kennedy halves every other month or so and spend them here there and everywhere. Of all the lesser known U.S. coins, it seems to be the one most folks like the best.
But good golly Miss Molly, does the Mint have to sell them for such a huge markup?!
Two rolls (40 coins) for over 82¢ each; and even if you buy 200 coins, they are 70¢ each! For a fifty-cent piece! (And this does not even take into account the shipping cost.)
Contrast those prices with the Native American dollars, which sell for $1.12 each if you buy a bag of 100.
