This coin is just sweet in my opinion! The obverse has 2 lines that run rim to rim across the northern area of the coin,These lines are incused into it and you can see that these lines effected the "UST" and "L". The reverse is just full on flaking on the southern area of the coin. Thus the damage is in the same area on both sides. I'd really like to hear some thoughts on this one! Thanks in advance!

Looks like a lamination error :) Look at the War Nickel someone recently posted. Has the same look.
Rest in Peace

I feel both sides are lamination issues. Note how they flow in straight lines. Probably the stock material created a lot of the same issues, but the coins would probably be struck in different directions.

I do appreciate the info! I was really excited when I seen this. is there a webpage dedicated to nickels? I've become really interested in them and would like to know more.So this coin is definitely going into the save pile, But would it be the low low premium or the medium low premium(1-5 or 10-20 range)? Thanks again!

Error coin prices are all over the place. It all depends upon the condition of the coin -- yours is worn -- and what someone is willing to pay.

You could keep an eye on ebay sold prices for similar coins.

I think that if you wanted to sell it you could get more than a dollar -- probably $8, but I've seen them listed for much more -- just never bothered to check to see if they ever sold.

These kinds of errors are fun to find and collect, but not rare.

Nice find!
