to the Forum Scorpio. The error on an error coin has to have happened at the mint. In my opinion, Whatever happened to your coin, happened post mint. Better luck on the next one.

I think it spent time in the ground. On the reverse rim, it looks like the nickel color showing at 12, 6:15, and most of the way from 9 to 11.

x2 on what Fuzzy said. It looks like a dug coin, and you can see nickle on the rim. Maybe hints of nickle on IN GOD WE TRUST, and the high spot on Jefferson's hair that's exhibiting some wear.

Note areas on the coin where the color has come off you coin. If you see silver on any spot it is a coin found out of doors. But if it were struck on a copper planchet, I would expect to see that the devices would flow over an edge and the coin would be thinner.
