Lincoln Error Date Penny? - Coin Community Forum

Also the ear lobe looks like doubled? Is this coin a PMD or something else? Thank you for reading/responding. Report this Post to the Staff

Crazyb0 Rest in Peace 10197 Posts	Posted 02/28/2017 12:15 am No double ear is normal, just worn/flattened. Grease or other filled, most likely grease, Did that a lot in the early 90's to keep the dies working longer. Report this Post to the Staff

Probably the die was wiped down with a cloth to remove the grease. Instead it help filled the recesses of the die. Unevenly at that. Report this Post to the Staff
