This coin brought to you by the generosity of Mark1959. It's the oldest one I have now, and reason for me to work on learning a new series. I've formed a rough guess based on PCGS photograde, but would appreciate your opinion. Thanks!

I like the reverse better so I'll say VG10 for the obverse and maybe F12 for the reverse.  Congrats on your win! I just took a gamble on a Flying Eagle and am hoping for something original. It will be my first.

I'm not quite sure how to grade that obverse. Some of the feather detail suggest VF, but there is damage along the rim (eagle's beak and "ER" of AMERICA. Weird stuff going on with the reverse rim too. It could be environmental damage.

Thanks guys, I was thinking VF details as well. Some wear is consistent with a VG grade, but there are details elsewhere that seemed to grade higher.
Nss, are you thinking misaligned die or off center strike? The obverse might be a bit off center too, but maybe not as much as the reverse.

Error coins and terminology are not "my thing", but I can see that the rim is wide at the bottom of the reverse and very narrow to non-existent at the top. In addition, there seems to be a channel (ditch, I don't know what it is called) between the rim and the denticles - see image below.
