The back has an S stamp of the same style but my camera didn't want to focus on it. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

the date looks recessed, so that would mean someone punched/counter-stamped that date, PMD

I moved it, because I figure you wanted to talk about the Nickel. There should already be a thread for finds from nickel rolls.

At least it's no longer dateless.
I wonder if you could pull enough of the original date to actually read it...

That is hilarious! Nice coin, that's actually cool, even if it is just damage.

One would have to be punch-drunk to hit the BIN button on that "1 7 9 9" methinks.

Yes, punch-drunk and clueless. What's the .03 about? Is it supposed to give the impression of a deeply researched valuation? And, no Best Offer? Fortunately, there is a large group of numismatists of all ages patroling for this sort of garbage listing.

If you're going to go to the trouble, why not make the nickel a 1912 or a '39?

Quote: If you're going to go to the trouble, why not make the nickel a 1912 or a '39? I suspect that this piece was manufactured to fill an album hole. There would be no album holes for Buffalo nickels, dated 1912 or 1939. Now, Dan Carr might make those dates, but his would look infinitely better!
