That's a 1959 D WAM. Not an error, and completely normal for the date

If that was a 1999-D, I would be more excited about it being minted on a Copper planchet than it being a WAM!

CoinCollector2000 is right, it is a 1959-D common cent, the first year of the Memorial reverse design.

You can try to rinse it off with some lukewarm water and give it a soak in 100% Acetone to clean it up.

Rest in Peace

Clean it, why?. I can send you a BU 59D. Theres many who have ROLLS of them! First issue Memorial reverse investors scarfed them from mint bags in '59 & '60. The P mints are a bit harder to find in rolls, but not by much!

Did you think that 5 was an 8?

Even if it was a 1999, it is not possible for it to be a WAM since it is from Denver. Denver got its own die shop in 1995 and since Denver does not have any proof Lincoln hubs sitting around like Philly, it is not possible for a Denver Zincoln to have a WAM after 1995.

The good news is you don't have to worry about the condition--it's worth a cent.

That is a nice one Stoneman227. I found a bunch of these in a roll once. They are nice looking under the scope.
