I seen on the forum somewhere where they recommended Daves Coins for purchasing Kennedy half dollars.I looked him up and I am going to place an order for a few coins to fill up my album. The prices are great and the coins look good.Anybody here ever ordered from there? I don't usually order through the mail but my local coin shop is high and not really good looking coins. His coins look awesome and are cheap, any advice or has anyone used him? *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I just checked his on-line stock and find it quite impressive really. I especially like that he sells typical and superior examples. https://www.davescollectiblecoins.c...haasc&page=3Be this as it may you will get better quality at only a little higher cost if you have access to mint sets you can search. This takes more effort but there will be very high grade coins and it only takes searching about ten or twenty sets of each date to put together something pretty special. The prices do look good though.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Pretty sure this guy has a big ebay presence too. I've bought from his ebay store and been pretty happy.

Yes I thought it was impressive also and about mint sets I really don't want to spend that much money on sets when I don't really need the quarters or dimes and such.Yes CelticKnot on his website the about section said he started out on ebay and still sells on ebay also.

I have purchased coins from Dave's and found the experience very satisfying. I made a "mistake" on my first order. I did not explore the entire website. After placing the order I noticed a section for "Coin Runs" that had exactly what I wanted at a lower cost. I wrote and asked if I could change the order. "Dave" cancelled the order and allowed me to start over. It was to his advantage as I doubled my overall order. I was happy with the cost and the quality of the purchased coins. One of the categories he sells is "Partial Proof Sets," which I love. You can purchase many of the post 1999 proof sets minus the extra coins (i.e., no Presidential dollars, various quarter varieties, extra cents or nickels). This is great if you are looking for the core coins. I made good use of this section when working on a 21st century type set. It was often cheaper to buy the partial proof set than several of the individual coins. (No affiliation. Just a satisfied customer)

I guesss it just depends on his prices. I just picked up 12 proof sets for under $60.00. From 60`s to 70`s

I just checked out his site and is very impressed. I especially like his "coin runs".. Will let me fill-up some big spaces in some of my albums very quickly/easily.. And prices appear very competitive!

I've used Dave's ebay store to do just that: fill a bunch of holes in an album, particularly for proofs. I've been happy with all my purchases, and it's not a bad way to go if that's your goal. Two downsides to that approach: 1) Getting a pile of coins in the mail and popping them in your album kind of takes away from the thrill of the hunt. 2) Also, you can't examine each coin before purchase, so you may get some that are less than perfect (but are still solid hole-fillers). Just my 2 cents there... I do think Dave's puts a great product out at competitive prices.

If you don't like great prices, excellent product and top notch customer service then look elsewhere. Otherwise you have found a great company to do business with.
