It may be very slight MD but, I think it's straight Die Deterioration causing that effect.

Probably some better images with the full date in one shot. 3-5 devices per images. (motto) should lean towards the five device area) I feel we are looking too close at this one with too few devices per image. That would be a better guide for me.

Not an authority or anything, but it sure looks like a doubled die to me. Nice find. Hypothetically speaking, what would explain this if it weren't a DD?

Looks like Strike Doubling to me. I see it on both sides of some of the devices.

I think it may be an illusion caused from the light. Difficult to tell by these images.

I'd say lighting. However Pennies are difficult to get pictures without the glare.
