1948 D Black Beauty Nickel? - Coin Community Forum

The black is permanent, is is not able to be swabbed off. Try it for yourself! You will always get curious dark expressions on the faces of checkout chicks! Lots of fun! Digging into some Jefferson nickel books might come up with a answer. I don't think I have heard of one as early as 1948. From pictures it is hard to tell, but I would be leaning towards the nickel posted to not being a black beauty. For comparison. Report this Post to the Staff
