EF-AU sharpness, but it has rough surfaces from environmental damage and that pit in front of the nose. In view of fact that $50 is around VF money, I think it was a little too much although the VF grade isn't what it used to be.

I have an 1861 but, mine isn't very good, hard to find in VF condition unless you want both arms and at least one leg gone.

This one is not that bad in my opinion, high VF details..

just based on the pics XF40 details. the dig right in front of the nose is in a key focal area and the coin based on these pics appears to have been cleaned. there are a lot of hairlines under that toning especially in front of the profile

Strong EF sharpness, but value greatly diminished by the ED. Personally think the price was way high.

Minimal wear, near full diamonds, typical weak strike on the upper feather tips tells me XF-45 and claims to AU-50 but the ding would knock it down to XF-40. Most of the black is probably just dirt and grease and will come off with some verdicare and a toothpick. I think $50.00 is a fair price to pay.
