What are your thought on this 1857 Flying Eagle cent, do you thing the ding at 10 o'clock will keep it from grading?

XF50 damaged...rim ding at 10 o'clock, other than that I can see it fitting nicely in my 7070 if you don't want it...

The rim ding does not bother me. I am thinking AU-53.

Judging from the photos the coloration seems off. Perhaps the dull monotone is caused by the white balance?

The coloration could be a result of not removing it from the flip prior to taking the picture

If the ding doesn't prevent the coin from getting a slab grade, it will make a "C grade" coin even if the slab says EF. The coin has AU-50 sharpness with the rim mark. I would not pay any more than VF money to be on the safe side, and I would not consider it for my collection.

AU50, the little rim ding would have been better it was on the reverse but it is what it is and wont receive a details designation due to that. if you can get it for a good price and live with the little ding everytime you look at it then its a decent coin

Agree AU-50 sharpness but not something I'd like to own. Easy to buy, tough to sell.
